NAWO is
looking for a Media and Communications Intern to join the team (2 days a week).
Based in Islington, you will be aiding the building of awareness and supporter engagement
through the new website and social networking. This is a good opportunity for somebody who would like to gain experience in
the women’s sector, further their experience of media and communications and work for a small organisation where their
ideas would be valued.
Core activities:
· Aiding the administrator to update and maintain NAWO’s website
· Maintaining NAWO’s social networking e.g. twitter, facebook
· Researching, writing and editing reports/articles for the website and e-bulletin
· Assisting with administration roles on an ad hoc basis
Person specification:
Essential:
· Excellent communication
skills (verbal, written and interpersonal
· Good
IT skills, including the use of social networking sites
·
Good organisational skills
· Ability to work independently
on your own initiative and within a team
· Commitment to the aims
of NAWO
Desirable:
· Experience with content management systems to maintain websites
· Experience with IT design programmes
·
Experience within the women’s sector
· Knowledge
of gender and policy development
